Forum 4: Swatchey Schemey

Image
For this Forum Assignment, I used InDesign to select color swatches from a photo and use those swatches for a series of nameplates. I took this photo of the sunset at the beach, and I decided the colors in the photo would be perfect for my swatches. I uploaded it to InDesign and got a color theme of the photo. I then made two other color tints for each of the color schemes and made a set of color swatches.  This is the set of tints I created. I then used the rectangle tool to make the backgrounds of the nameplates and used the text tool to make them say what I wanted them to say. Next, I used the colors from my swatch palette for the colors of the words and background of my nameplates. Here are three nameplate samples I created!

Forum 3: What Do You Meme?

Image
For this assignment, I used a photo of my sister and I that we took at a taco-themed museum where we are holding giant bottles of hot sauce. Now that there is a COVID-19 outbreak, and grocery stores are selling out of many products, I found a picture in an article online of empty grocery store shelves with frustrated people trying to shop. I thought of this as a perfect opportunity for a meme about how much my family loves hot sauce... so much that we sold out the whole store! Using Photoshop, I took the selection tool and outlined my sister and me with our giant bottles of hot sauce, and copied the selected layer onto the grocery store photo. I then used a smart filter to add a gaussian blur onto the picture of my sister and me. I then added a brightness and contrast layer. Lastly, I added text to the picture and added a stroke to the text to make it a MEME!
